Page Cloaking vs. Link Cloaking

Your Ad Tracker has link cloaking (Pro members only) but what if you want to cloak (hide) an entire page on your own site? First, lets take a look at the difference…
Link Cloaking
If you simply need to cloak (hide) or shorten a link such as http://www.commentluv.com/?ref=clp-admin@cs57 Your Ad Tracker’s cloaking feature can create a tracking link that will look like http://4u2bn.com/ku42. If you click on http://4u2bn.com/ku42 you will see http://4u2bn.com/ku42 in the address bar rather than the actual page displayed, which in this case is http://www.commentluv.com/.
Page Cloaking
Even though page cloaking works exactly the same way, using an invisible frame, page cloaking allows the cloaked page to display on your own site. For example, I wanted to display an affiliate link http://www.commentluv.com/?ref=clp-admin@cs57 on my own domain, I found this free online tool that will generate the HTML code needed. You can use this tool for the recommends method such as YourAdTracker.com/recommends/CommentLuv.html
Note: Keep in mind that using the page cloaking method above will not track your clicks unless you use a tracking link or code.
Important: Always make sure you have permission from the site owner before cloaking any site. Without permission or authorization you are highjacking or stealing content. These tips are meant only for cloaking sites and links that have giving permission to use their content in such a fashion. Please be respectful to others and get that permission before framing their content.
Also Important: Both page and link cloaking effect certain scripts (including some PayPal “Buy Now” buttons) or even cause them to become ineffective. Always test your tracking links and if it’s preventing the payment script from working you will need to un-cloak the tracker to correct the problem. See http://www.youradtracker.com/tips-and-advice/tracking-links-and-paypal-buttons for details.
