Multiple Trackers To The Same URL

Q: I found your service today and was hoping that I could create multiple links, cloaked or not, to the same target URL but your script informs me that I cannot do this.
A: You are correct, the script we use won’t allow the same URL on multiple sites but there are a couple of work-arounds.
- Say you need ten trackers to Google.com. Create the first one and then create a second tracker to anything else, say Yahoo.com. Now change (edit) the second tracker to link to Google.com. The script will allow this action. Now you can go back and edit as many trackers as you need. It takes an extra step but unless you’re making hundreds of trackers it’s really not that bad.
- Another option is to create a group for each of the trackers. You can create multiple trackers to the same URL on multiple sites as long as they are in different groups. This is especially handy if you want to create a tracker to your site for banner ads and then another one for PPC and one for text ads etc.. For this example I would create groups called ‘banners‘, ‘ppc‘, and ‘text ads‘.
- If you needed just a few trackers to one URL the script can also be tricked this way:http://google.com/index.html
http://www.google.com/
http://www.google.com
http://google.com/
http://google.comThat gives you five trackers to the same URL.

Hi after reading the article Multiple Trackers To The Same URL I though I would respond in case I am broking one of your guide lines.I am new to your service as of this week. I have not had any problems with it all and I find it very easy to use. I love it!
Now, I needed multiple shortened cloaked URL’s for each of my websites. What I did was first enter my first website URL to get the new shortened URL.Then I tested the link. Then I entered the new shorten URL to get another URL for that. That gives me two shortened URL’s for the one website.I did get a note stating that the URL had already been shortened. The system still delivered a new URL.Then I tested the new link. It worked fine. So then I tested the first shortened URL, it worked fine also. I had no problems at all and all URL’s are working. There are no tracking problems all.Like I said,’I love it’. Thank you
for an outstanding service.

Hi Anthony, Sorry for the long delay in responding. For some reason Akismet sent your comment to the spam box. I looked up your account and, yes, that is against our terms. I’m not going to ask you to delete those but in the future please use one of the three options above. All those re-directs increase the risk of link failure anyway.
I appreciate you checking out our Blog and FAQ and taking the time to comment.
