My Hits Do Not Match
Written by admin from http://briandhawkins.com/ on September 20th, 2008 | 0 CommentsQ: The statistics in one of my groups show the following: 96/65/76/89 hits (from top to bottom) to the respective URLs. The similar statistic in -removed-`s own stats shows: 1902/1577/1588/1998. I find that difference very strange, and I am of course very interested to know which stats are wrong. -removed- is a traffic exchange where THEY provide the hits instead of for members to do the surfing. Your comments highly appreciated.
A: I’m not familiar with -removed-. I have no idea why there would be such a big difference in hits. A small percentage is normal but not that much. We have built a pretty good reputation and one complaint we rarely see is that our numbers are wrong. There are different methods of tracking. Your Ad Tracker counts the raw clicks rather than unique hits but that would not explain the difference you are getting.
I recommend you contact the company that’s providing the traffic and see if there’s any chance that’s an error. Our script is running smoothly and I checked my own numbers and it seems fine.
On a personal note, it sounds like you are buying traffic. I’m not a big fan of traffic exchanges or buying traffic. If interested you can see my post on the subject on my personal blog here:
Buying Traffic Is A Waste Of Time
I hope that helps,
Brian
