IP Addresses Recorded

FAQ sectionQ: Can an IP# be converted to the person’s URL? It is good to know how many hits and the dates we get but if I had the urls from the IP#s it would be great.

A: The IP address recorded on ‘View Stats‘ is the IP address of the actual computer the person is on so it’s not a website. ISP’s issue each internet access account an IP address for their systems. The IP addresses are not unique and can change so it is not fool proof but it gives a good indication if the hits are unique or not. If you see the same IP address over and over it’s probably the same person or system doing the clicking. You can see your computer’s IP address by visiting http://www.hostip.info/

Even though it’s not what Your Ad Tracker records, as a side note, there is a way to see the IP address of a website but if it’s on a shared server there could be hundreds of sites using the same IP address. You can lookup an IP address by visiting http://cqcounter.com/whois/
